Laura Hardesty Photography

I've had the priviledge to work with some of the best community art promoters in South Florida - all of which are located in Ft. Lauderdale thus far. Miami seems to be lacking in such artistic promotion and community involvement at this level. My thanks to the Broward Art Guild for their long history and continuing opportunities and exposure for new artists, and the various galleries around Wilton Manors and Broward area that host exhibits at their locations. Also thanks to ArtsUnited for their tremendous support of the arts and the GLBT community and year round events! And to ArtServe for their equally diligent support and space provided.

*Second Place with "Lathe" photo. Juror Eydi Lampasona (Boca Raton Museum of Art): "What I was looking for in making final selections for the awards? First and foremost, originality. Secondly, a personal vision and/or story and third, the handling of the media chosen. Laura Hardesty's second place photo, Lathe, shows great skill at discovering significance in a mundane object and conveying that significance to the viewer."

**Third Place win with "Spider Lily." Jurror Jane Collin, Artist, Educator.
